A serious question looking for serious responses:

Is the entire US Government compromised?

I just watched the David Corn video about Kash Patel, the present Director of the FBI.

We see Pam Bondi defend criminal acts every day.

We see the Secretary of Defense exposing all sorts of secret information on unsecure platforms.

We see the envoy to Russia doing the same as he sits in Moscow.

We see every Department head lie for Trump and Putin.

All of them have deserted Ukraine and their fledgling democracy.

They want to cut every social program that helps the American people.

Only in the last few days has Donald Trump pretended to criticize Putin. We wonder why now?

They have crashed our markets and broken all of our alliances we have had since WWII?

Is there any Department in the government that has not been compromised?

If it is true, are we just whistling past the graveyard?

more and more nationwide protests. Does that make me optimistic that whatever is left of these Federal agencies can somehow prevail? Not on the short term, but it is a start.

It is hard to be an optimist in this time (and that is not my "natural" inclination anyway), but we have to cope. So, I try to find the positives wherever they might be or however minimalized.

The Republicans have been corrupted for any number of years. Basically since the W&Co neocons dissolved them. The NRA was sucking in Russian money. They had a Russian spy deep inside the operation. Trump relied on foreign money as he (convicted) juggled the hell out of the books. The 400+ page Mueller report that laid out an unbelievable amount of Russian connection got a 4 page summary from Bill Barr within 48 hours that completely ignore everything in the report(that we’ve seen). BTW - if you’re still with me, Bill Barr looks like Elton John ate Ralphie from “A Christmas Story”.

He’s stupid. Not an age thing, he’s just never been smart and he knows it.

especially this quickly.

There are a couple of agencies they haven't completely dismantled yet. There is still time for the RepubliCONS in Congress to step up and put a stop to the complete take over.

...is a conglomeration of Christian Nationalists, white supremacists, bigoted fascists, grifters, and thieves. In various measure it's an oligarchy, kleptocracy, and kakistocracy. It's a disparate stew of malignant self-interests that have no issue in doing on any given day the stupidest or worse thing possible in response to nothing the American people asked for.

I have no doubt Musk and his minions have allowed some foreign governments access to some of the data they've seen and collected, and anyone with a functioning brain has long ago concluded there have to be serious reasons why Russia almost always gets favored treatment from Trump. The nuts at The Heritage Foundation, Opus Dei, and the like are content to have a government led by a strongman as long as it's a Eurocentric, Christian-based government.

These people are the American Taliban.

As things stand, it would probably be better to have an actual 'government shutdown',
at least among the departments and officials who are doing the most damage...

ICE, Homeland Security, the "Justice" Department... and the White House.
