Now if those containers are put on trucks and cross into the US, then yes, tariffs would be applied. But if the merchandise remains in Canada, why would the importer be charged US tariffs?

The fun part is figuring out where the holes are. Some folks may have already done that, as this regime isn't known for dotting all its i's and crossing all its t's.

Evading tariffs is just as old as tariffs. Hell, you could say our country was founding on evading tariffs.

Although the tourists will still risk being hit with tariffs, duties and taxes, depending on the value of purchases and the time out of the US.

But if the anticipated shortages materialize, it may be the only way to get certain products (such as the new Nintendo Switch 2 console).

I live in Nanaimo, and we regularly have container ships “parked” in our harbour, awaiting clearance to dock and unload in the commercial harbours.

96 vessels have arrived in last 24 hours,
and 59 are expected to arrive in next 30 days

What is the typical number, say from this time last year?

We shall see in the coming months just how much traffic is diverted from Seattle to Vancouver.

docking or unloading until Trumpy caves? Then they sail to their original destinations.
Think it through, your scenario is too messy. 🇨🇦 wins again.
