And, since Trump is misinterpreting and misusing those powers, they could easily repeal the law he is claiming to use…if they had the courage.

Congress may have given him the power, but that doesn't mean they intended for the President to create his own "emergency," in order to exploit that power. And, yes. The current Congress is gutless, and that's being very generous.

But even if the courts rule in the plaintiff’s favor, how would it be enforced?

The strongest way to block Trump’s abuse of the law is to repeal the law itself, completely rescinding any and all emergency authority granted to the executive by congress, reverting that authority wholly to congress, as the constitution dictates.

It will be interesting to see if, once the nation is plunged into recession, and shortages are commonplace, if congress will find the courage to repeal the law, or if the Republicans will mindlessly plod towards a bloodbath in the midterms.

- The extraordinary threat is coming from the White House, not just on trade, but literally everything.

- Yeah - we have a threat. But it's 300 pounds and orange.

- I think you mean 224 lbs. 😆

- Kilos

Somehow along the way F47 convinced a huge number of people that halfway cleaning up his own mess counts as a major victory.

The economy is contracting, and a recession will be called by the fall.

After next week, no further container ships from China are scheduled to arrive in US ports.

Stop and reflect on that reality.

Check back in a couple weeks with your take on how things are, if you’re still here.
