I'm dating myself, but the gossip of the town in the mid 80s was that Mel Gibson held the views he did about women--that he wanted them pregnant and in the kitchen. Like it was unfathomable somebody who worked in the film industry could ever possibly hold such views. (This was at least a decade before Gibson's antisemitism was public knowledge.) It's not going to be easy to find MAGA in that part of the state, but they totally know that and this was nothing more than a provocation or, more likely, an excuse to visit.

They gripe all over Citizen and Neighborhood apps. When someone tries to or does break in somewhere they go nuts and blame Newsom or Mayor Bass as though they should be at everyone's front or back door (every apartment, home and business!!).

If there's a premiere, a protest, a marathon, they all scream online because there are helicopters and that means crime, then they blame Newsom and Bass and how L.A. is absolute shit before they even know what's going on.

But the one thing that absolutely sends them into warp drive are the unhoused. If they see one, there are hundreds of them trying to kill everyone.
If they see tents in another part of the city away from their homes, they get on and complain that they are in their backyard. They see all of these people as being crazed drug addicts and bent on violence and destruction. They don't take into account anything else that puts people out of their homes even though it's been covered hundreds of times in local news. Economic issues, sky high rents, vets, apartment takeovers, etc.

Yes, we have our fair share of crime and homelessness but these idiots act as though it's never, ever been here AT ALL! This is the one theme I see all of the time. "It's never been like this". OH YES IT HAS. Which tells me they haven't been around very long.

A good amount of these idiot transplants don't typically make it a year and move back to their state or somewhere else but then the next wave arrive and start up the shit stirring again. They end up pulling in a few of the long-term transplants and maybe a native Californian or two. They may be pulling in more than that because men everywhere are feeling more entitled than I've ever seen in my lifetime so far ....and there are also a lot of tech jobs here which plays into their Tech Bro culture.

Luckily Citizen started to clean things up a bit but these people just find another place to go ejaculate their ill informed opinions.
