trump's support among Hispanics nosediving

Mike Madrid on bluesky reports that the recent Pew poll has trump at 27% approval with Hispanics and the CNN poll released today has him at 28%. "This is a complete collapse among what was the fastest growing group of GOP supporters. Trump is now where he was before the 2018 wipeout."

So much winning. I credit some of this to the recent visit to El Salvador by Dem members, especially Van Hollen's brave visit and interview with Abrego Garcia. The pressure is working!

It doesn't care that your family "did all the right things" to get and stay here. You all look the same to the leopard.

but was that ever proven? Did they really think that he would leave them alone if they followed the rules or was that just some reporters' speculation? Either way, a very foolhardy opinion for any group, including the white working class to hold. Trump will use and discard ANYONE who can be of use to him.

Too many people were hardwired to think Trump was a
good businessman, and that Democrats were bad for
business...

When the truth has always been the exact opposite.

They are not stupid and saw his crimes on TV.
The J6 Insurrection, his rape and business trials, the boxes of classified documents.

They elected him because they thought he would commit crimes for them.
They would pay no taxes, have no regulation, be able to scam and cheat their customers.

So yes their entitled privilege led them to believe Trump would not screw them over.
Which is exactly what he doing with the tariffs which are causing economic chaos
and damage to the US dollar.

My sister and I personally know very rich owners who
truly thought Trump was a good businessman and voted
for him for that reason.

They do regret it now. Still...

I know. Words fail.

Too many to miss.

I think the good businessman lie is a way to cover up
their racism, hostility towards women, or their desire to have Trump commit
crimes for them. No taxes, no regulation, scamming customers.

They'll spew the "I thought he was a good businessman" bullshit because they don't want to admit that they are just as racist, misogynistic, dunderheaded, and stupid as he is.

I think there's a way that these people just assume that
the white businessman must be all right, so they don't explore
further or care about anythig else.

But the ones my sister and I know are definitely not criminals
and deeply regret their votes.

I think they were just stupid and ignorant and cruising
on white bias.

A bold economically progressive platform while the dissatisfaction increases substantially, it isn't insane to think Democrats can nearly completely take over congress in 2026. I'm talking a 2/3rds majority in both chambers.

I gave up trying to understand Cuban Republicans long ago, but I can't see them approving of this. I live in a majority Hispanic area with the population made up mostly of Mexicans. It's a completely different "vibe" I think.

I have never totally understood why Hispanics were so supportive of the Felon to the extent they were.

His callous disregard for them has only increased with each passing day.

Given the Hispanic support he received and didn’t deserve in November’s election, this figure should continue to drop. This is especially true, given his actions since taking office.

Also he has, as most of us could predict, appointed precious few (Rubio mainly) Hispanics since taking office.

There's a woman who is an undocumented immigrant from Latin America who lives in northern New Jersey.

She was more MAGA than MAGA. She and her church viewed Trump as a protector of the (Protestant/Evangelical) faith. A godly man, Christ-like. You get the picture. They believed that TSF would only deport the wrong kind of immigrant, e.g., criminals.

Now, because of her Savior's policies, she's had to quickly move out of her Union City apartment b/c ICE was asking about her at her employment. Not only has she moved to another municipality, but she's not even living there. She's holed up in motels in attempts to evade ICE, detention, and deportation.

Her Savior has lost his halo.
